Debra was really great. She came very prepared for every meeting with vendors and made sure my husband and I were on task to get everything done before the wedding. At the rehearsal, she and her team got everyone set up and ready to go without me having to say a word, which was perfect. On the day of the wedding, she and her team worked seamlessly to make sure everything came off without a hitch. Guests told me after the wedding that the timing of the reception was perfect. If anything went wrong that day, I was not aware of it. My husband and I were able to be guests are our own wedding. I highly recommend Debra's services.

Let me start off by saying without Debra and her team our wedding would not have been possible!! I reached out to Debra by phone we made an appointment to meet and when I met her she was so warm and welcoming that I felt like I knew her for years. I explained to her that I have been going through a lot in the past year including losing my brother and that I would need assistance in my very emotional but happy big day because a HUGE piece of my family would be missing. Debra was MORE then assuring that everything would be ok thats when I knew she was the right planner for me. When I told her we were inviting 600 people I thought maybe she would get intimidated but instead she was excited to help! I can say I was a very tough bride to get in touch with between work and building a house but she never gave up, she still found ways to send me ideas which were all amazing and she would leave me messages reminding me she was always a phone call away if I needed her. My husband loves Debra and still to this day tells me "our wedding wouldn't have been possible without her and hiring her was the best thing we could have done" which makes me happy knowing he's happy. As the wedding approached Debra and her team were more then ahead of schedule and would contact our venues to the point where the venues would contact me and tell me how organized and nice my planners are, I loved it! Before I knew it our rehersal dinner approached and our wedding party consisted of about 24 people all together. They were not the easiest people to deal with but Debra and her team handled it with no problem and within minutes they had my party organized and ready for the big day! The week of the wedding, Debra and her team had our timeline ready for the wedding day and it was so detailed and organized I knew nothing would go wrong that day! The day before we got married I came down with 102 fever and when I spoke to Debra she told me to do NOTHING but relax, take some tylenol and she would take care of everything and when I woke up the next morning I felt great! I can go on and on about how perfect our wedding day went but I'd be going on forever! Debra and her team were amazing and a big thank you to Debra and Britney who had to deal with us ALL day. Even the day after our wedding we had nothing to worry about, they collected the tuxedos and returned them for us and they took my gown and got it cleaned for me! We could not be more happier with the choice we made in hiring Debra and her team! We loved every girl involved in our wedding and we highly recommend them to EVERY couple looking for someone to help them plan their big day!! -Anna&Sean-

I got to see Debra in action when she and her staff coordinated my cousin's wedding a year ago. I knew that when I was getting married, her expertise would be invaluable. We got married in northern New Jersey on October 2, 2011, and thanks to Debra, we will always have amazing memories of that day. Instead of stressing out about anymore wedding details the day of the wedding, my husband and I were able to relax and enjoy. Our day would not have gone as smoothly as it did if we had not had Debra and her team. Debra and her team were prepared for EVERYTHING, and we mean everything (busted zippers, stranded make-up artists, crazy guest list and all....).

Let us start out by saying that hiring Debra and her team was, by far, the BEST decision we made throughout the wedding planning process!!! From our initial meeting with Debra, we were confident that she would help us create the type of wedding that we both wanted. She took the time to listen to our ideas, and expertly guided us throughout the process. We began working with Debra one year before our wedding. At that point, we had already booked a few of the “big” vendors (reception site, DJ, photographer, etc.). From that point on, Deb introduced us to many reputable vendors for the services that we still needed. Deb never pressured us to choose one of her recommended vendors, but we found ourselves wanting to work with them anyway! We felt like we got V.I.P. treatment from everyone whenever we mentioned that Debra Thompson was our wedding planner. Her connections throughout the industry not only saved us money, but also ensured that we were dealing with professionals who delivered high-quality results. Throughout the year, Deb became more than just a wedding planner to us… she became a friend. We found ourselves getting in contact with her several times a day – anytime we had a question, a concern, or just needed advice – and it never seemed like we were bothering her. Deb was always quick to respond to our e-mails and answer our phone calls. She also helped us deal with any issues that arose along the way (which are inevitable when planning a wedding). It was so reassuring to know that we had someone there to stand up for us and ensure that we received a high quality of service throughout the process. Deb and her team were invaluable to us on the actual wedding day. We were both able to relax and take it all in, while Deb and her team worked diligently behind the scenes to make sure that everything ran smoothly and according to plan. Thanks to Debra’s trusty timeline, everyone from the photographer to the limo driver knew exactly where and when they were needed. Our wedding turned out to be everything we had dreamed of and more, and we were able to enjoy it all! So, if you are considering hiring a wedding planner, it would definitely be a mistake to choose anyone other than Weddings by Debra!

Debra is an amazing wedding planner! She is a true professional and goes above and beyond to help make your wedding day a memorable event. Our wedding required coordinating things with many different vendors, all with very different work ethics and hidden agendas. Debra was able to work with all of them in a professional manner making us feel confident that our wedding would go as planned. Our day was amazing and we didn't have to worry about one thing! Debra and her team made our day feel like a fairy tale wedding and we all had a wonderful, happy and totally stress free celebration. We trust that Debra will make anyone's day as wonderful as ours!

We first met Debra at our venue's Bridal Showcase, but with 5 months left before the wedding we figured we didn't need a planner. We were definitely wrong! We called Debra in a panic and she gave us a to-do list even before we hired her! The last couple of months before the wedding were so stressful and there were so many last minute details that we didn't think of, so thank goodness Debra was there to reassure us and calm us down. Debra definitely saved our sanity! We were able to enjoy our special day knowing that Debra and her team were there to take care of everything.

This may seem strange but Debra was NOT my planner. Basically, my wedding planner cancelled last minute and left me out to dry. I called everywhere to find one and left a message on Debra's voicemail. She called me up and sensed that I was distressed. She was unfortunately not available on my wedding date but she heard my entire story and felt so terrible, she went out of her way to help. She was literally a guardian wedding angel. She called around, contacted planners she knew well, spoke to them about my situation and found me a phenomenal planner. On top of that, she kept in touch with me throughout the entire process to see how everything was going. All this and she wasn't even my planner and I didn't pay her a single penny. She is obviously extremely caring, loves what she does and clearly wants to make brides happy. That's a rare combination in this day in age. If I ever have any other event, she would def be my choice. Thanks so much for rescuing me Debra! You have no idea how much it means to me.

Shortly after I became engaged, I knew that I was going to need some sort of wedding planning intervention since not only did my fiance and I want to get married in a matter of 6+ months but I am also a huge procrastinator. So in doing some research, Deb's name kept popping up. Since she was in my area, I decided to call her and meet for coffee one Saturday morning. From the moment I met Deb, I could just tell she was a warm soul with a huge heart. She embraced me with a big hug and listened to my ideas for my wedding. She was also extremely willing to offer up advice regarding what I should be focusing on at that point...something that I needed given my procrastination tendencies. She also somehow got me to open up to her regarding the passing of my Dad and my concerns surrounding being able to "keep it together" on my wedding day. This conversation led to us both being teary eyed. That was the moment that I knew that Deb was going to be with me through this planning process (and hopefully a friend beyond). I went home that day and told my fiance that we ABSOLUTELY had to hire Deb. He didn't necessarily agree with me that we NEEDED to have a wedding planner, but fortunately agreed (he later came to realize that hiring Deb was money very well spent!). From that point on, Deb jumped right in and was involved in EVERY aspect of my wedding planning. She offered suggestions along the way (without being overwhelming), accompanied me on meetings with vendors, and most of all, was BEYOND a pleasure to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of wedding planning, well organized and most of all, SUCH a caring person. All of my remaining single friends have already been told by me that they should not even give a second thought to working with Deb when their day comes. She is absolutely the best and I look forward to keeping in touch with her as the years progress.

Deb is the most amazing wedding planner!!! She is professional, enthusiastic and creative. From the very beginning, we were so impressed by her that we stopped interviewing anyone else. She was flexible on her budget, which we truly appreciated, and from our first meeting understood exactly the kind of wedding we envisioned. The best part about Deb is that she never treated our wedding like just a job, or the planning like just a list of items to be completed. This is someone who really loves what she does! We are very detail-oriented couple and we knew we wanted a very elegant, but intimate affair, and Deb did a wonderful job of keeping everything fun, while making sure everything turned out exactly right. She had the perfect recommendations for vendors and her team is top-notch. Deb treats her couples like close friends and she really made an effort to get to know us and to tailor the event to our personalities. On the day-of, I think she was as excited as we were! I would recommend Debra to anyone! We connected as soon as I called her. She knew exactly what I wanted without me having to say anything. I was introduced to Debra through our caterer. We had a lot of our planning done by the time we met her, and I honestly didn't think I could afford a planner, but I needed that extra sense of security for my wedding since we were getting married away from home. Debra was very flexible and worked with our budget and our needs. She went above and beyond her "day of" duties. She helped us through a lot of road bumps and decisions that needed to be made along the way. She wasn't afraid to tell us where to spend our money and where to save it, and she was always right!!! She came with a list of vendors and back ups! I would sometimes e-mail her with last minute requests and questions, and she always responded with a smile in her voice......she was on top of everything. She honestly saved my sanity. By the time our wedding came I was calmer then I thought I would be. She put me at ease...... I trusted her to make decisions for us and knew that she had gotten to know us so well, that she would know how we would want the situation handled. Even two days before the wedding, she handled last minute changes without a hitch. I didn't have a doubt in my mind that our day would be perfect. She crosses every "t" and dots every "I". Our wedding ran smoothly, our needs were met, and everything was perfect! Debra is not only money well spent, she is a big piece of sanity and has also become a friend! Where does one begin in how to describe what we can only say was the most wonderful experience of our lives. Debra and her team executed a job with such precision, amazing attention to detail and love that it really took our breathes away. We started planning our wedding on our own; somehow thinking we could manage to do it ourselves. Suddenly, about 5 months before the big day and after a few little 'meltdowns', Debra came on the scene. Debra calmed frayed nerves when things went amiss, found the most wonderful florist in the world when we fired our's just about 2 weeks before the wedding and made our wedding day the most beautiful and memorable day of our lives. Debra is always there when we needed her. Whether it be over the phone, or late late at night. (My husband is a night owl and he found himself an email penpal). She accomodated her schedule to our demanding work schedules and business trips. Our wedding guests were blown away. One comment came from an uncle of my husband; the Chairman and CEO of a Fortune 500 company. His words summed it all up: The most amazing day...with the most beautiful flowers and people...but most of all; everything was perfect. Debra is perfect, accomodating, patient, hysterically funny and most importantly, she is from Brooklyn. She knows how to handle difficult people, she is great at negotiations and knows how to handle a difficult vendor or two. If you want the greatest wedding planner in the world, HIRE DEB! Words truly can not describe just how great she is and what a source of information and support she was during what certainly could be the most stressful time of anyone's lives. LOVE YA DEB!!

We were introduced to Debra Thompson by our friends who also worked with her for their wedding. From the first meeting, Deb understood exactly what I was envisioning for our wedding. We could tell immediately that she was very experienced, professional and we loved her warm personality. Deb has a network of vendors she can recommend. I liked that she never pushed us to sign with any of them. She negotiated on our behalf with the vendors and worked fabulously with them. Deb kept us on track with the planning and was very accommodating (and patient) with my busy work schedule. Her guidance and expertise were invaluable to us. She was always there when we needed her and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. On the day of the wedding, Deb took care of EVERYTHING. I did not have to worry about a single thing. Deb was there from the moment we began the day through the very end. She even packed up our belongings and helped us load them in the car. She went above and beyond what I was expecting. In our eyes, the day was absolutely perfect. Everyone had a blast and a number of our guests made it a point to tell us how impressed they were with how organized and well run the wedding was. Our families and bridal party loved her! The best decision we made throughout the entire wedding planning process was hiring Deb. I honestly cannot imagine how I could have done this without her. Working with Deb made both the wedding planning process, as well as my wedding day an absolute dream. She handled absolutely every detail and made sure it was beyond my wildest expectations. She taught me important skills about the industry, planning strategy, creative visioning, as well as introduced me to some amazing individuals who made my day perfect. Most of the guest at my wedding specifically said it was the most fun, special, and seamlessly planned wedding they had attended. Kind, personable, patient, and professional don't even begin to describe Deb Thompson. She puts a personal touch in everything she does, ansd when you are working with Deb you will feel as though you are her only client. She cares deeply for each couple and extends herself to form a special relationship with both the couple, and the couples family! Deb is an expert when it comes to etiquette, invitation wording, bustling, set-up, coordination, organizing the bills, there is nothing she can't do! When I first got engaged right away I knew I needed to find a wedding planner. My mom does not live in the area and I did not feel comfortable "bothering" anyone else. The only problem was I didn't know of any wedding planners as none of my family or friends used one! I immedialtely went online and viewed a couple of websites when I came upon Weddings By Debra. Her website was the only one I got a warm feeling from so I decided to read up on her reviews. I was overwhelmed that all of her reviews said how amazing she was...professional, hard-working and went above and beyond for them. All of them also stated how she had become such a good friend to them. So, the only thing left to do was meet her and find out for myself. Our first meeitng lasted hours as we clicked right away! She even offered to send us some information without even knowing if we would hire her or not! Once we left the meeting we knew right away Deb was the only wedding planner we would interview. I must say Debra Thompson lived up to all of her "reviews". She was there with us every step of the way...literally. She helped us find vendors, came to all of our meetings, went dress shopping with me, handled all of our contracts, kept us on schedule, she even helped me put together my bridesmaids gifts! The list really does go on and on! But most of all, she really cares about her couples and becomes more like another family member. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives. It was so beautiful and we could just relax and have fun knowing that Deb was there overseeing everything. Thank you Deb for being there for us this past year. Deb is AMAZING!!! From our initial meeting we just clicked. I knew she got the vision for my wedding and would help me stay on track. Throughout the year of planning Deb attended every meeting with me, helped to negotiate fair prices, spoke up for me when I was concerned and most importantly kept a record of every and all appointment, email, idea I had. As the big day got closer, and I got more frazzled, Deb was a huge help!! She scheduled my dads last minute tux appointment, spoke to the vendors when we were having money transfer issues and truly took the stress off of me. She would always tell me to let her stress and for me to enjoy the day. Which is exactly what I did. From the moment I woke up on my wedding day, Deb was by my side helping me with everything....including the inevitable family drama. Also, Deb recommended the best vendors and I knew I could trust in her suggestions and they turned out wonderfully. Deb became more than a planner, but also a friend!! I am so excited to be able to write a review for Debra Thompson, my wedding planner. To put it simply, I COULD NOT have gotten through the wedding planning process without her. She is worth her weight in gold. There is not one single aspect of my wedding that she did not help me with. We were together for over a year, and in that time she became both a confidant and friend to my husband and I, as well as my family. She is such a professional and devotes so much of her time and energy to your wedding, you are never even aware that she is working with any other brides besides you. I never realized at the beginning of my planning how much I would come to rely on her wisdom, her calming manner, her wonderful network of vendors which are all excellent, her guidance throughout the planning process, and most of all her loyalty to you as a couple. I became so accustomed to our practically daily email and phone conversations especially as the wedding approached, I don't know what I am going to do without them now!! She was always there for me to vent to her about anything I needed to talk about and was very quick in helping us resolve any issues with vendors along the way. Many times as my wedding approached, people would ask me how I looked so calm, and the answer was simple: Debra Thompson was my wedding planner. On the day of my wedding, Debbie and her staff were absolutely wonderful in making sure the day ran smoothly and on time. Even though it may seem to some that hiring a wedding planner may be an extravagant or unnecessary purchase, it was the single most important decision I made concerning my wedding other than saying "I DO"! We love you, Deb, and are just going to have to have another party for you to plan sometime soon!!!

I cannot say enough nice things about Debra Thompson and what an amazing wedding planner and person that she is. Debra was a great resource for vendor selection and advice, but as I quickly learned there is A LOT more to the wedding planning process than just booking vendors and making decisions on the “big stuff”, and this is where Debra’s true value lies. Debra coordinated all the vendors, handled all hotel accommodations (which can be a bigger item then you can imagine), transportation, the schedule, our budget and every little mishap that came our way. When things went wrong Debra was always there to make it right. Debra also pushed the vendors to work around my work schedule and my husband’s business travel. We live out of state and my husband travels to Europe and Africa at least once a month or more, so making appointments during normal vendor work hours was nearly impossible for us. I was also already using up all my vacation time for my honeymoon, so I did not have much flexibility during the week. Debra made sure the vendors worked around our schedules, which was a huge relief! Actually, in that respect, Debra also made herself available when it was convenient for us. After working all day, she always made time to talk to me in the evenings when I got home from work. She really made us feel like we were her only couple. We were married on June 27, 2009 at the Castle on the Hudson. It was a beautiful day and Debra and her staff worked like a well-oiled machine. Everything was in order and ran so smoothly. She took care of everything, and I honestly do not know what I would have done without her. I had a prefect day, and I am certain that my wedding would not have been everything it was without her. I highly recommend her!

Debra is wonderful! She is the primary reason why our wedding ran so smoothly. From the moment we met her, we both knew she would be the perfect person to run our event. She is always professional, punctual, and very easy to work with. Debra is excellent at keeping you on track of your To-Do list. She will let you know what your focus should be every month for both the bride and groom. And will go with you to meetings whenever you need it. One of the things I appreciated most about Debra is that she will give you her unbiased opinion on things that are giving you most trouble to decide on. She has been in the business for a long time and has seen everything, so her opinion is very valuable. Many times, we found ourselves going back and forth on certain aspects of the wedding. Debra helped put it all into perspective, and encouraged ideas that were unique to our particular relationship. She is big on personalizing your wedding to make it your own. Also, if you ever need any referrals for vendors you are still looking for, she has an extensive group of vendors she has worked with. We really cannot think of one person she introduced us to that was not professional and extremely accomodating. However, she will never make you feel pressured to go with her affiliated vendors. The decision is ultimately up to the bride and groom. She never made us feel uncomfortable when we decided to go with vendors she had not worked with. She worked very well with them as well. On the day of the wedding, I didnt have to worry about a thing! Debra took care of absolutely everything, from the floral delivery, to the gratuities, to lining everyone up for the processional. She even helped the venue's staff cut the cake (which was a HUGE task in our case- our cake was 6 feet tall!!). I was honestly able to enjoy our day as much, or more, than I had imagined. We did not find out about the "glitches" til the day after the event, if you can call them that. Turns out my in-laws surprised us with a band and did not tell any of our vendors or the venue about it until one hour before the grand entrance! Debra handled the situation quickly and smoothly.
